Gillian Greenip
Gillian has been in the salon industry for more than 20 years and has held every position in a salon, from shampoo girl, assistant, receptionist to manager. Her career began at Timothy’s of Squirrel Hill (Pittsburgh) and prior to opening, BLue A Hair Studio (Huntingdon Valley).
Gillian is a Brand Educator for Wella, a Wella Color Expert, Wella Cut Expert, and is on the ghd North American Style Squad. In 2025 she won the Editorial Cut category of the North American Trend Vision Awards. Gillian has completed several certifications at the Sassoon Academy, both stateside and in Toronto.
Gillian has had the opportunity to assist Wella Global Artist, Sonya Dove and Wella Top Artist, Alexandra Matiz. She has also attended in-salon classes with Anthony Cole, Oscar Bond, Omar Antonio, Aubrey Loot, Sam Villa, Nick Arrojo and many more.
While Gillian’s passion behind the chair took many years to mature, she now jumps at the chance to learn and bring the best to her clientele. She specializes in curly hair and color, especially blonding. Opening Gillian, The Salon, has been a labor of love, friendship and creativity. She looks forward to bringing her vision to her amazing clientele, old and new.
Gillian loves pilates, fly fishing, pole fitness, making people laugh and great music. She has two adult children Michael & Mia.
Timothy Kranick
Timothy began his career in 1983 with Leslie & Company in Pittsburgh and assisted under Global Artist Leslie Bryner. It is there that he harnessed his great skill for styling hair. In the mid-80's Timothy jumped at the opportunity to assist under the NAHA Master Stylist, Oscar Bond. It was there that Timothy developed his talent for hair coloring and cutting. In 1997 he opened his salon, Timothy's of Squirrel Hill. Timothy was also a corporate color educator for L’Oréal Professional. He received further education during this time at: Loreal Academy (Soho), Trevor Sorbie Academy in London, Le Coup in Montreal, The Sassoon Academy in New York City, and Toni & Guy.
After successfully owning and operating two salons (Timothy’s of Forbes & Avenue W) in the Pittsburgh area, Timothy joined Anthony Izzi at Anthony Izzi Salon in the Shadyside & Aspinwall, Pa locations.. In 2024, Timothy began teaching haircutting classes for Hanzo, the number one shear brand in the world. In 2025 He traveled to Toronto to complete Sassoon Academy‘s Texture Course. in 2026, Timothy began the Wella Color Expert Program.
Timothy has two adult children, Christopher and Caroline. He enjoys fly fishing, golfing, a good book and good conversation.
Timothy brings 40+ years of experience to Gillian, The Salon. He specializes in pixies, curly hair and all things blonde. His attention to detail and artistry are second to none.
